What is Chat GPT, is it the new Tik-Tok?

I keep seeing posts or articles about Chat GPT, claiming that it is writing kids assignments for them. That basically even college students are having this AI platform do their schoolwork for them. That it’s not being picked up as plagiarism because it’s actually an original paper created entirely by AI. It makes you wonder if that’s actually possible, that no one has to do schoolwork anymore because it’s automated. I have seen reports that people have been giving the AI their problems which aparently has been causing some sort of psychosis. Reminds me of the AI version of refer-madness. Where people are claiming that talking to these apparent chat bots is making these young kids crazy. It’s crazy because I have had customer service chats where I find out later that the chat function was actually an AI bot. Where I could honestly not have told the difference if you hadn’t told me after the fact. It sort of reminds me of Tik-Tok.
Where everybody in the world uses Tik-Tok, I have heard that actually billions of people use Tik-Tok. While in reality its actually the whole country of China making up about 90% of that statistic. No, I realize that a bunch of people actually love Tik-Tok. What I meant is that I don’t think I have ever talked to somebody who said, ohh I use Tik-Tok. There was a point where it was banned in the US. Which I think makes it sort of a stigma around the people that enjoy it. To the point where you don’t even see people with the app in public. I have this feeling that everybody who is super into the app sort of has a feeling they might be secretly working for the Chinese government even though nobody talks about it. Not that they are, that’s only my opinion. I only say that because it sort of came out that the app was leaking intelligence to foreign nations. Which didn’t seem to deter people from using it.
Which brings me back to Chat GPT. I guess it does your schoolwork for you. At the cost of making you insane? Or maybe I guess not insane, stupid because you don’t learn from taking credit for work you didn’t do. Not to say that doing your school work makes you smart. There are plenty of smart people that dropped out of college. I think that expecting a computer to do your work for you is probably not very bright. Or I guess crazy, which is not that different if you ask me.
Apparently the problem is that it gives you bad advice. Where aparently if you ask for advice with personal issues it will suggest killing people or give you other bad advice. Which makes sense I guess, I think the real problem is that the computer is probably joking. Except it’s hard to pick up sarcasm in a chat especially if it’s computer generated sarcasm. Either way I’m convinced that most of this issue is probably in China. Which judging from my experience with the Corona Virus. You don’t think will be an issue for the rest of the world. Until the virus shuts down your entire country overnight. Also was Tik-Tok around before the pandemic I honestly can’t remember. I know Chat GPT is new, or maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s been around since the start of the pandemic as well. I honestly don’t care enough to find out.
