Here’s my opinion on the stock market. When it comes to investing, that’s exactly what it is intended to be. An investment, of your money in a company that you believe is going to do well. It’s an endorsement of your faith that the company will bring in money instead of lose it. I think that intending to make money off the market solely by buying or selling is a misuse of the system. Now, I am not trying to say that it isn’t possible to make money off day trading. Because it 100% is, people everywhere do it. The issue is that those sorts of trading strategies are the reason that the market ever crashes. Also to be clear I am not a former Wall St investor, I only put that on there because it sounded catchy. If you ask me investments are supposed to be long term. Where you either put money into a stable stock you know is going to do well or you buy into a portfolio that is guaranteed growth. Same as putting your money into the bank, except instead of your money being loaned out to random people it is being loaned business that are expected to turn a profit. If you ask me when it comes to investing in stocks, don’t. Unless you absolutely have 100% faith in the company. Or even better think of it as a charitable donation, that you won’t ever see again. Because when it comes to the stock market you probably won’t!
